THE TASK Force Davao initiated a comprehensive simulation exercise early morning on Thursday in Juna Subdivision to evaluate and fortify the preparedness of all security sectors in the city.
TFD spokesperson Captain John Louie Dema-ala said the exercise demonstrated the commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of residents through collaborative efforts.
It is anchored on EO 62, Series of 2021 (An Order Adopting the Integrated Response on Terrorism Plan (USAHAY II) of TF Davao and Activating the Joint Security Forces Cluster in the Event of Terror Attacks).
The Simex was designed based on a near-real scenario, taking into account the current security challenges not only in Western Mindanao and Central Mindanao but also in the broader global security landscape.
He said this approach allows participants to simulate and respond to situations that closely mirror the complexities and dynamics of the real world.
The simulation focused on a bombing incident scenario in Juna Subdivision, allowing the city’s security sectors to assess and enhance their immediate response capabilities; Securing Public Convergence Areas: During the simulation, all public convergence areas, including places of worship, were effectively secured.
This highlighted the dedication to safeguarding the community and ensuring public safety in various settings.
Also a Swift Tracking and Apprehension: The simulation showcased the proficiency of the security forces in swiftly tracking and apprehending the simulated perpetrators, underscoring the coordination and effectiveness of the city’s security.
The success of the simulation exercise was a result of the collaborative efforts of the safety and Security Cluster of Davao City including Task Force Davao, Davao City Police Office, Joint Special Operation Forces 1, Special Operations Command (Socom), AFP, Tactical Operations Group XI, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, Coastguard District Southeastern Mindanao, Regional Maritime Unit XI, Bureau of Fire XI, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency XI, Public Safety and Security Office, City Information Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and City Transport and Traffic Management Office.
Col. Darren Comia, commander of the Task Force Davao, expressed his gratitude for the participation of the different members of the Safety and Security Cluster and congratulated them for a job well done.
He emphasized that preparedness, coordination, proactive measures, and effective communication are the key elements in maintaining a safe and secure Davao City.
