Taxpayers told to renew business permits ASAP

THE CITY Business Bureau reminded taxpayers to renew their business permits before the Jan. 31 deadline.

Business Bureau head Maribel Paguican said not to expect any extension and to pay as soon as possible to avoid sanctions and fines.

“I expect everyone nga mo-renew within the timeline kay timebound ang atong renewal activity. If you cannot renew in time, expect penalties that will be imposed on you,” she said during the Davao City Disaster Radio Jan. 3 episode.

“We do not expect nga naay extension, although City Council man na nga trabaho, pero as of now, wala pay extension sa pagbayad,” she added.

Paguican said there are 10 different locations in various districts catering to business owners.

These locations include the Sangguniang Panlunsod (SP) Building for the Poblacion District; Almendras Gym for Agdao and Talomo Districts; Gaisano Grand CitiGate Mall for Buhangin District; Baguio District Treasury Office for Baguio District; Marilog District Treasury Office for Marilog District; Tugbok District Treasury Office for Tugbok District; Calinan Gym for Calinan District; Toril District Treasury Office for Toril District; Bunawan District Treasury Office for Bunawan District; and Paquibato District Treasury Office in Paquibato District.

The official said the operation is extended until Saturday and until the last Sunday of the month to accommodate clients before the given deadline.

On Jan. 31, the last day of renewal, the SP and Almendras Gym will operate until 10 pm, Gaisano Malls until 8 pm, and applications in Calinan, Tugbok, and Toril districts will still be accepted until 7 p.m.

However, Marilog, Baguio, and Paquibato districts will only operate until 5 p.m. on the last day for safety protocols.

A total number of 2,284 applications were recorded for the first day of renewal, which started on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Paguican said it was a good turnout as they almost broke the record from last Jan. 3, 2023, with a total number of 2,479 applications on the first day.

Taxpayers are advised to access the online platform at https://appbts.davaocity.gov.ph/ and those who opt to pay manually can print the renewal application from the same portal.
