Switching power interruptions on Sept. 29, 30, and Oct. 2 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on September 29, 30 and October 2, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between midnight and 1 a.m on Sunday, September 29. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the same day. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate the 69kV line tapping at the Gredu Substation.

Specifically affected are customers from the entire Tadeco area from Nanyo, New Malitbog, Manay, Libertad, San Miguel, Magsaysay, Dapecol going to Alejal, including Biopulp, and the entire Sto. Tomas going to Katipunan and Luna.

Another switching power interruption will be conducted for 30 minutes anytime between 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30. This is necessary to facilitate the energization and loading of Gredu Substation.

Specifically affected are those from J.P. Laurel Panabo going to Licanan Area including Panabo City Hall, Richmond Top Glass, Millenium Specialty Coco, and nearby areas.

Lastly, a switching power interruption will be conducted on Wednesday, October 2 for the normalization of R. Castillo Substation. This will be for 30 minutes anytime between midnight and 1 a.m. affecting the entire R.Castillo and Agdao areas up to Leon Garcia Street and a portion of Sta. Ana Avenue.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
