Switching power interruptions on March 29, 30, and 31 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, March 29, 30, and 31, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate the preventive maintenance works at Buhangin Substation. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29. Specifically affected are those from Buhangin Substation along Mamay Road to crossing Diversion Road traffic light, Buhangin Floor Center to NCBD Dialysis Center, Buhangin Diversion Road.

Also affected are those from Buhangin Substation to crossing Diversion Road, going to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses then to Buhangin Memorial up to crossing Milan opposite of Gaisano Grand Citygate including Buhangin Police Station, St. Mary Church, Sand Village, Villa Park Subdivision, Holy Trinity Village, and Holy Child.

Customers from Buhangin Substation to Juanas Kubo North including Camp Catitipan and F. Bangoy International Airport, from Buhangin Substation going to Cabantian and Indangan areas, and from Buhangin Substation going along Mamay Road, Diversion Road traffic light to Airport Road (Airport View) will also experience this service disruption.

Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31. Specifically affected are those from Buhangin Substation along Mamay Road to the crossing Diversion Road traffic light, Buhangin Floor Center to NCBD Dialysis Center, and Buhangin Diversion Road.

Also affected are those from Buhangin Substation to crossing Diversion Road, going to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, then to Buhangin Memorial up to crossing Milan opposite of Gaisano Grand Citygate including Buhangin Police Station, St. Mary Church, Sand Village, Villa Park Subdivision, Holy Trinity Village, and Holy Child.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to conduct line works along Mahayag, Bunawan. The loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 30. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Monday, March 31.

Specifically affected are those from Steel Asia, Holcim, the entire Tadeco, Sto Tomas, Dujali, and nearby areas, including portions of Tuganay, Carmen, Biopulp, entire Ilang to Tibungco areas, including DMS.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruption,s but it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances when restoration extends beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
