Switching power interruptions on February 11 and 17 in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte

THE DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on Tuesday and Monday, Feb. 11 and 17, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate preventive maintenance works at the Panacan Substation.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. the following Monday, February 17.

Specifically affected are customers from the entire Panacan area up to Diversion Road F. Bangoy Airport entrance, Daang Maharlika Highway going to Tibungco Public Market including Mudiang areas, DBCOM, New Davao Oil Mill, Holcim Office, Unifrutti, Ferro Steel, Panacan Public Market, Camp Panacan, San Miguel Panacan, Malagamot areas and nearby areas.

Also affected are those from the Pampanga area from Mercury Drug Sasa, Star Oil Sasa,  Km 10 to 13 Sasa, and the corner of DPWH, Tibungco areas from Bottle King up to Tibungco Public Market including La Filipina Uy Gongco Corporation, Ilang areas, and nearby areas.

Customers from Buhisan Elementary School, Krudohan Budbod, Regan Industrial Sales Inc., Lumad Kapehan and Seafood Grill, BMC Corporation, San Francisco Elementary School, McDonald’s Panabo, Licanan TF Davao, Lasang, J.P. Laurel Elementary School, Panabo City Hall, Gredu Poblacion, and nearby areas will also be affected by these power outages.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary for the temporary shutdown of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Toril 69kV line in preparation for the line works at the NGCP Davao Substation.

The transfer of loads will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the same day.

Specifically affected are customers in the entire Toril area going to Carabao statue, Eden Bayabas, including Lubogan, Tagakpan, and Manambulan, entire Dumoy area going to Daliao Toril including Vales Beach, going to Libby Road Toril Memorial via Bago Aplaya road, and nearby areas, and the entire Puan area to Mercury Ulas.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
