Suspected drug dealer killed in shootout, P3-M worth of shabu seized

ELEMENTS of the Ma-a Police Station seized more than P3 million worth of shabu from a suspected drug dealer who was killed after trying to fight the arresting officers in a buy-bust at Purok 3 Sentro, Barangay Langub, around 10:46 p.m. on Aug. 25.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), only identified the killed suspect as Dodot, of legal age.

According to the report, the suspect sold one sachet of suspected shabu weighing two grams in exchange for P10,000. 

After the transaction, the police poseur-buyer announced an arrest but the suspect allegedly drew his firearm and fired toward the officer. 

However, the police returned fire hitting the suspect. 

The wounded suspect was immediately brought to the Southern Philippine Medical Center for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician at 11:12 p.m. on the same date. 

Meanwhile, personnel of the Davao City Forensic Unit (DCFU) led by PSMS Lorenzo M. Dayon Jr. recovered a .38 revolver without a serial number, cartridge, three live bullets, and two pieces of fired cartridge cases from a 9mm pistol.

Police also recovered two big sachets of shabu, P223 in cash, buy-bust money, and a disposable lighter from the suspect’s possession. 

The confiscated drug items weighed 190 grams with an estimated street value of P3,040,000.
