Suspected drug dealer killed in buy-bust; another arrested

A 45-YEAR-OLD man was killed after reportedly resisting arrest during a drug buy-bust in Kanipaan, Barangay Daliao, Toril District, around 5:26 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24. 

Police identified the slain suspect as Antonio Crimine Amora, single, a resident of Antonio Village, Upper Piedad, Purok 16, Barangay Crossing Bayabas.

During the operation, the suspect allegedly sold a sachet of shabu in exchange for P1,000.

However, when the operative declared arrest, Amora allegedly pulled out his gun and shot at the police officer, who subsequently fired back.

The suspect was taken to Davao Mediquest Hospital but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Recovered from his sling bag were two medium packages of illegal drugs weighing 1.3 grams with a street value of P20,800.

Moreover, they recovered from the crime scene a .38 caliber revolver containing two fired cartridge cases, .38 cal. live ammunition and three fired cartridge cases from a 9mm, which are currently under custody for examination.

The recovered items will be turned over to the Davao City Forensic Unit in Ecoland for laboratory examination.

Driver arrested in buy-bust

In related news, a case will be filed for violation of Republic Act 9165 ( Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against the suspect, identified only as Harold, 33, a driver from Toril.

Reportedly, the suspect sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Lizada. He is now in the custody of the Toril Police Station.
