THE LAND Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) XI has already started the distribution of fuel subsidies for beneficiaries in Davao Region under the Pantawid Pasada Program.
The program seeks to lessen the burden of the transportation sector’s rising gasoline and diesel prices in the country.
However, Engr. Marie Jean Jaralba, LTFRB-XI Administrative Officer IV, said for those who could not receive their fuel subsidies, the money will be deposited to their card provided by Landbank East Avenue, and verified by any Landbank branches.
A total of 12,004 beneficiaries will receive fuel subsidies in Davao Region.
“Daghan gyud gaadto diri sa amoang office kay nakalimot na sila sa ilahang card pins, tungod pud siguro sa kadugay na sa announcement sa pag distribute (Several beneficiaries visit our office here because they forgot their card PINs. Maybe because of how long it took to announce the distribution schedule),” Jaralba said.
She also said they have received complaints from some of the beneficiaries about the subsidy’s distribution.
“Naa man gu’y uban nga magreklamo nganong wala pa sila nahulugan, pero amoang advice is magpaabot lang sila kay nationwide baya ni (Some also complained that the money wasn’t deposited yet. But our advice is just to wait because this is a nationwide program),” she added.
She also emphasized fuel subsidy cards cannot be withdrawn as cash as they could only be used in accredited kiosks. This is also to ensure that subsidies are utilized for fuels only, and not for any other expenses.
Nonito Llanos III, LTFRB-XI regional director, said there are bus operators who already received subsidies into their respective accounts.
“Hopefully, hinay-hinay na pud kining madawat sa atoang mga jeepney and taxi drivers,” Llanos said.
The said program gives P10,000 to modernized jeepneys and buses, and P6,500 to traditional jeeps, vans, taxis, buses, shuttle service taxis, and transport network vehicle services.
The subsidy is the result of the memorandum of agreement and Joint Memorandum Circular 02, Series of 2023, by the Department of Transportation (DoTr), LTFRB, Department of Budget and Management, Department of Energy, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, Land Bank of the Philippines, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
