  • Two buy-busts in one night yield P3.4 million worth of shabu

AUTHORITIES seized a total of P3.4 million worth of shabu after separate successful buy-bust operations in Barangays Angliongto and Matina Pangi leading to the arrest of top drug targets on Thursday evening, March 14.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson, said the latest operation was conducted in Punad Street, Angliongto near San Josue Resort around 8:10 p.m.

Operatives arrested Hamsa Landoc, considered the top 1 city-level target, 42, businessman, and a resident of Moncado Kadingil, Marawi City, and Nashif Hamsa, student, and a resident of Lumbaca Macadar, Lumbatan, Lanao Del Sur.

The elements of the Sasa Police Station Drug Enforcement Team led by Lt Arnieto Ico, together with the personnel from the 1105th Mobile Company of Regional Mobile Force Battalion led by Capt. Kevin Pamaos, acting company commander, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI recovered four sachets of shabu weighing 140.67 grams and P2.5 million in street value.

They also submitted as evidence the write Fortuner used by the suspects, a black sling bag, a Samsung phone; a .380 caliber pistol with two magazines and three bullets, and the P23,000 buy-bust money.

The suspects are now in the custody of the Sasa Police Office as they face a case for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591).

On the same day, Aycelle Nave Ramin, 35, a resident of Km. 7.5, Matina Pangi was arrested near her house around 1:42 p.m. Tuazon said the suspect was a top regional-level target.

According to the report, she sold a sachet to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for P15,000 in buy-bust money. The team confiscated 52.44 grams of shabu worth  P943,920 from the suspect.

Ramin is now in the custody of Sasa police, facing a charge of violation of R.A. 9165.
