Soldiers help LGUs respond to flood victims

SOLDIERS of the 10th Infantry Division conducted humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and rescue operations in different parts of Davao Region affected by floods and landslides due to the low-pressure area since Jan. 31.

Major Mark Anthony Tito, 10ID spokesperson, said four infantry brigades, the 10ID Emergency Response Company, the Installation and Management Battalion, and the Service Support Battalion of the Agila Division helped various local government units evacuate residents to safer grounds. 

Apart from clearing roads and highways affected by landslides, the troops also distributed relief goods and other essential items to evacuees.

The 10ID deployed its military assets to fast-track the rescue operations and humanitarian assistance.

Major General Allan D. Hambala, 10ID commander, vowed that all soldiers are committed to assisting LGUs and government agencies to help residents.
