SM CITY Davao, Public Employment Service Office, and the Department of Labor and Employment Davao Region will conduct a Job Fair on April 10 at the mall’s Ecoland Annex Event Center.
During the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM, mall manager Leah Delarmente said the job fair is their commitment to supporting the national effort toward employment generation.
The job fair will be participated by local and overseas applicants, and SM City tenants and affiliates. For instance, the establishment is looking for 24 applicants for the shopping center, mall administration, SM stores, and tenants.
“During the job fair, if they are qualified naman actually we can hire them on the spot,” she said.
Delarmente also announced that there will be another Job Fair at the same venue, SM Ecoland Annex Center, on May 1 in celebration of Labor Day.
According to Lorraine Grace Ugsang, Employment Focal Person of DOLE-XI, there are 29 confirmed local employers with 2,345 job vacancies and 10 confirmed overseas employers, with 3,888 job vacancies to participate in the fair.
“We are hoping to cater more applicants this year,” she said.
She also added that some of the top local job vacancies for this year are customer service representatives, technical service representatives, and machine operators etc., while overseas employers are looking for heavy equipment operators, cleaners, butchers, welders, among others.
Overseas placements are bound for Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Japan, Australia, Croatia, Bahrain, and Singapore.
