Shabu seized from van passenger at checkpoint

ALMOST P30,000 worth of shabu was seized from a van passenger while passing through Lasang, Bunawan checkpoint,  at around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26.

Joint elements of the Task Force Davao and Davao City Police Office have seized two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 1.87 grams with an estimated street value of P29,920.

Captain John Louie Dema-ala, the spokesperson of Task Force Davao, said the items were seized from Arturo E. Kilat Jr., 48, married, and a resident of Purok, Bougainvilla Bato-bato, San Isidro, Davao Oriental.

Kilat was onboard a public utility van travelling toward the city.

The suspect is now under the custody of Bunawan Police Station for filing an appropriate case for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
