- Davao cops assist Senate in Quiboloy arrest efforts
THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI confirmed on Tuesday, April 9, their collaboration with the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms to bring in Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).
Director III Manny Parlade and Director II Gil Valdez from the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Office arrived at PRO XI headquarters to meet with the local police, according to PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey.
PRO XI director Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo, NBI Region XI director Atty. Arcelito Albao, and other officials, including military representatives, welcomed the two officials and discussed the next steps.
“They went yesterday (April 8) where we had a coordinating conference,” DCPO chief Col. Richard Bad-ang told reporters in a press conference at the headquarters on Tuesday.
“The warrant hasn’t been served yet due to a lack of confirmed sightings of Pastor Quiboloy,” said NBI Region XI director Lawyer Arcelito Albao in a separate interview. “However, the Senate warrant is already in the possession of the PNP PRO XI.”
Authorities are still determining Pastor Quiboloy’s location to serve the warrant.
The Senate authorized Quiboloy’s arrest for repeatedly skipping hearings on alleged human trafficking, sexual abuse, and child abuse within KOJC.
Last week, the NBI and Davao police served arrest warrants on Quiboloy and his associates, but he remains at large.
On April 6, Pastor Quiboloy denied hiding and outlined conditions for his surrender, including guarantees from government officials and the cessation of the Senate investigation. He also accused the Marcos administration of conspiring with the US government, which allegedly wanted him dead.
Quiboloy is on the FBI’s most-wanted list for sex trafficking, bulk cash smuggling, coercion, and fraud.
