Self-care redefined

Self-care has become a mantra as we opened to a new world post-COVID. The heavy lockdown has changed how we view our physical, mental and psychological state of well-being. There is an ongoing reset on how we want to present ourselves tapping into advancements in technology boosted by social media.

Social media platforms have led to the demystification of beauty procedures and treatments. Tiktok and Youtube tutorials have driven many individuals across generations and gender to be aware of options, especially non-invasive beauty treatments available to them.

Beauty treatments are done by well trained aestheticians.

In Davao City, there is a significant increase in the number of beauty spas offering various treatments at different price points. This shows the growing acceptance of subtle enhancements without going through drastic changes on their appearance or  spending extravagantly for a slight tuck here and there.

“Less is more,” said Dr. Antonio Torrejon, a trained medical doctor specializing in Aesthetics and co-owner of Noor Aesthetics and Beauty Lounge. He said beauty treatments have become so sophisticated and safe that there is no longer a downtime in getting a procedure. It’s just like taking time out for lunch and getting back to work with a special glow.

Faye Bitte, who underwent training in Thailand for professional aesthetic procedures, said that in today’s stressful environment, emphasis on holistic well-being and self-care has become gold standard for men and women who frequent the Noor Aesthetics and Beauty Lounge. Certainly, the global pandemic has taught us the importance of self-care that translates to more confidence and joy in the knowledge that everything will be alright, as we face a rapidly changing world.

While there is a popular nod on beauty treatments, some are still reticent about enhancement procedures they plan to undergo. Faye said that a client’s privacy is a value that they consciensiously practice.

“We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of our clients and staff. All personal information will be kept confidential and used solely for your health and safety,” she said.

The ambiance is perfect for relaxation and de-stressing.

Self-care is no longer just pampering to vanity. It is loving oneself to boost confidence and be the best one can be.

The spacious and pleasant ambiance of the spa add to the feeling of being pampered and taken care of by professionals who have your comfort as top priority. It opened on September 19, 2023.
