Mayor Sara Duterte

The mayor told reporters in an ambush interview at the Daniel R. Aguinaldo National Highschool after she cast her vote that she will “work for our country.”

Yan po Ang kampanya natin sa lahat out of support of all Filipinos in campaigning na maging matapat tayo sa ating komunidad sa ating mga bayan, sa ating mga lungsod (That is our campaign out of the support of the Filipinos in campaigning to be honest in our community, towns and cities),” she said.

“And of course, I will be a supportive and loyal vice president to BBM (Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos) in the event that he wins. Kung Hindi Naman natin kasama or kaalyado ang mananalo na pangulo (And if the winning president is not our ally), I will still continue to work for our country,” she added.

The mayor arrived at the polling precinct on Monday at 9:12 a.m. together with her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio.

“If not given a cabinet position then we already prepared peacebuilding activities and the activities for child protection, particularly in campaigning for schools and our youth,” she further said.

“For now we have not been talking about cabinet position but we are focusing now on the proper counting of our votes,” the Mayor said.

Moreover, she said that she already talked with all local candidates to form an alliance here in Davao City “so that for the next three years, we will be helping each other to maximize the funding and projects for Davao City.”

She then hopes for orderly, honest, and peaceful national and local elections.

kung sino man ang manalo dapat tanggapin natin yun basta siguraduhin lang natin na tama ang bilang nang ating boto (Whoever wins we must accept that, as long as we make sure that our votes are counted properly),” she said.
