SAP beneficiaries urged to register online for vetting

The Department of Social and Welfare Development urged beneficiaries of the Special Amelioration Program (SAP) who already received their subsidies to register online for easier validation for the second round of distribution.

As of June 8, there are more than 9,000 first tranche beneficiaries who registered, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI. The immediate application was created as a validation platform for the second tranche of the SAP distribution.

Grace Subong, DSWD-XI regional director, said during the virtual presser, the app is a great help for greater validation coverage and easier access to government financial aid.

“We initiated negotiations, discussions, and meetings with banks that will be our partner in distribution through a digital platform to speed up the process because we understand the urgent need,” she said.

She also advised those who lost their SAP card to report it to their respective barangays or coordinate with the DSWD office.

The acceptance of cash assistance will either be through the bank or cash transfer scheme and will no longer be available through the local government unit, barangay or regional leader, which is one of the reasons why the distribution is slow.
