SAP anomalies result in filing of 8 cases so far

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-11 has filed eight cases against barangay officials in the region over alleged anomalies in the implementation of the Special Amelioration Program (SAP).

Major Milgrace Driz, chief of CIDG – Davao City Field Unit said as of June 18, the number of those cases filed were from the 22 cases that reached the office and that three of them have yet to be filed.

Driz said the cases were for violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act; RA 3019, the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Of the number of cases, nine were withdrawn and one was referred to another agency.

Among those involved, Driz said, were 15 barangay chairmen, three barangay councilors, four barangay secretaries, five barangay health workers, six purok leaders, a daycare teacher and four civilians.

Driz urged the public “to report any violations on SAP distribution.:
