Samal coop gets P500-K

A cooperative  in Samal was the recipient of a P500,000 worth of livelihood grants from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI, which will aid in providing income to its members.

In a statement, the DOLE-Davao said, identified the beneficiary as GRAINS Multi-Purpose Cooperative, which submitted a proposal to establish a water refilling station business in their area.

“The group finds the project profitable due to the absence of water refilling station in the area,” DOLE said in a statement.

A total of P599,320 was granted to the cooperative in order to procure the equipment which include one unit water refilling machine, three stainless tanks, one electronic table top water dispenser, 30 tabletop water dispensers, one unit of air conditioner, and one unit generator set.

“Take good care of this project. If you can increase your income, then an enhancement is very possible in the future,” said Jason P. Balais, DOLE XI OIC-assistant regional director.
