CARLOS Sainz Jr. ends almost season-long speculations of his next team as he joins Williams Racing from 2025 onwards.

In a shocking move, Sainz announced the signing on his Instagram account. “I am a hundred percent committed and confident that Williams is the right place for me to spend my next few years,” he said.

The Spaniard driver was put on the hot seat when Ferrari confirmed their acquisition of Lewis Hamilton and retention of Charles Leclerc for the next season, leaving Sainz out of the picture.

Before signing with Williams, Sainz was poised to serve as a one-two punch with current World Driver’s Champion Max Verstappen for Red Bull Racing. He was also rumored to directly replace Hamilton in Mercedes.

Williams will retain Alex Albon as their other driver, foregoing Logan Sargeant for the next season.

Sainz most recently won the 2024 Australian Grand Prix. He has a career total of 3 race wins, 23 podiums, 5 pole positions, and 1,144.5 points.
