Relief packs distributed

Around 42,000 relief packs have been distributed by the city government to some barangays in the city who are affected by the outbreak of COVID-19.

Mayor Sara Duterte, in a Davao City Disaster Radio interview on Friday, said they have not reached the target for the distribution of relief packs.

“The challenge really is the catching up of the repacking by our team,” she said, adding that there has been delays due to the repacking of these goods.

As of April 2, Duterte said that a total of 42,689 have been delivered to seven barangays in the city.

Tibungco received 10,000 goods all in all, Sasa with a partial number of 3,000, Sto. Niño with 6,200, Tugbok with 3,100, Barangay 74-A with 11, 747, Barangay 24 with 500, and Barangay 27 with 491.

She said they are not able to send goods to all 350,000 goods as of Friday, following that they have planned to finish the first round by Friday.

She said they will still continue distributing these goods during weekdays.

In a previous report also, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) aimed to reach 52,000 families during Thursday’s relief packs distribution.

CSWDO head Malou Bermudo, in an interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday, said that 103,394 families have been given the relief packs as of Wednesday, April 1.
