Registration of businesses, offices in DQR resumes

THE registration of offices and business establishments in the Safe Davao Quick Response (DQR) code system resumed Wednesday night, the city government announced.

Those who want to register their entities should do so by using the link https://establishments.safe-davao.com, while those that were able to register during the first week of the month are not required to register again.

The registration of establishments will allow them to verify through scanning of DQR codes of both their employees and clients when”entering and exiting” their premises.

The announcement said those establishments whose clients won’t stay for less than 15 minutes are not required to register at this time, among them bakeries without dine-in, sari-sari stores, small open stalls and similar entities.

On Monday, Mayor Sara Duterte said the city government would still announce the resumption of registration of individuals as the system is designed to track down individuals who might have been exposed to those with the coronavirus so that health protocols could be implemented.

Duterte also assured the public that those allowed to scan the codes will not have access to personal information as the data are restored in the city government servers and that the program would not be used except for contact tracing of individuals exposed to those who were infected with the virus.
