A former drug convict was arrested anew in a buy-bust operation Thursday in Barangay Los Amigos, Tugbok District.
Major Ricky Obenza, the commander of Tugbok Police Station, identified the suspect as Leonard Barte Tasic alias Toto, 32, jobless, a native of Barangay Tubon, Pigcawayan, North Cotabato.
Obenza said Tasic was previously arrested for illegal drugs but was released from jail in 2019 after entering a plea bargaining for a lesser penalty.
He said they monitored Tasic after receiving information he was involved anew in selling illegal drugs in Tugbok area.
During the operation at Km. 20, Purok 3 in Los Amigos, the suspect handed a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police operative after receiving P500.
Officer also seized four big sachets of suspected shabu estimated value of P50,000 and a cellular phone. A P300 cash and the marked money was also recovered.
Drug charges are ready against the suspect who is now in the custody of Tugbok Police Station.
