Davao City – Four exciting matches will be played as the RBL (Relampagos Basketball League) Board Members Cup 2019 basketball tournament tips off at the Panabo City Multi-Purpose gym.
KD Green Lions (PAO and Friends) play the Fiscals/PNP Tagausig (Panabo Fiscals and PNP) in the opener at 9 a.m. followed by the Panabo City Mayor’s Office against the DavNor Faith Defenders (Pastors from DavNor) at 10:20 a.m. while the Nippon Paintmasters test the Panabo Hall of Justice at 11:40 a.m.
The PDEA Drugbusters battle the RFC Eagle Warriors (RFC Lending) in the lone match-up set in the afternoon at 1 p.m.
The match-ups will come right after the motorcade and a short opening rites set to start at 8 a.m. starting at the Rizal Park court going to the Panabo Ciity Multi-Purpose gym.
These teams are divided into two brackets with the Panabo City Mayor’s Office, KD Green Lions (PAO and Friends), DavNor Faith Defenders (Pastors from DavNor) and Fiscals/PNP Tagausig (Panabo Fiscals and PNP) in Group A and the RFC Eagle Warriors (RFC Lending), Nippon Paintmasters, Panabo Hall of Justice and PDEA Drugbusters comprising Group B.
They will play a single bracket classification round to be followed by the crossover group quarterfinals. The top two teams per bracket will have a twice-to-beat edge going to the semifinal round. The semifinal winners will advance to the finals in a best of three affair while the semis losers will play for third place.
RBL Board Members Cup founder Atty. Jigs Relampagos and co-founder Atty. Arvin Laguindam along with PAO District Heat Atty. Arvin Relampagos ang tournament commissioner Jek Melendres will welcome the teams during the opening rites.
The champion team will get P15,000 while the first and second runner-up will get P10,000 and P5,000, respectively.
