Publisher’s Notes | Our contribution to flatten the curve

We have decided as an organization to help minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19, even in our publication process.

Effective today, March 21, management has decided to stop printing our copies and revert to online channels instead. This will continue until such time that the proper government agencies give the go signal and lift the State of Calamity. In effect, we have instructed our frontliners, our reporters, correspondents, and contributors, as well as our editors and photographers, to work where they are safest: at home, away from the crowd, and send in their stories and columns online instead of reporting at the editorial office. We have also instructed our newsboys to stay home to protect them from the dangers of transmission of this dreaded disease.

However, our readers may rest assured that we’re still here. We’re still going to layout each day’s copy and release the issue, albeit 100% online. Our website, www.mindanaotimes.com.ph and social media channels (@mindanaotimes on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) continue to act as our online presence. And more recently, we have decided to release our daily copies online, for free, through issuu.com.

This decision has not been easy for the Times management but we decided to err on the side of caution instead of risking ourselves during these uncertain TIMES.

We join the rest of the media in ensuring that we will continue to tell stories that are verified and accurate to the best of our ability under difficult circumstances.

May God bless us all!
