THE NAVAL Forces Eastern Mindanao hosted an arrival ceremony to welcome Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Ladislao Diwa (PS178) in the Eastern Mindanao waters at Captain Feranil Pier, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, on April 23.
The event was graced by the Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso A. Magno, who also acted as the guest of honor and speaker.
In his message, Sec. Magno vowed to support NFEM’s endeavors in safeguarding the Eastern Mindanao area of responsibility and protecting its people.
BRP Ladislao Diwa (PS178) is skippered by Commander Lawrence Calimag and manned by five officers and 32 Enlisted Personnel.
Commander Calimag and his men were warmly welcomed by Sec. Magno, together with NFEM officers, led by Commodore Alfonspin Tumanda Jr.
The ceremony concluded with a quick shipboard tour aboard PS178.
With its arrival, NFEM reaffirms its commitment to strengthening maritime security efforts within the Eastern Mindanao area of responsibility and ensuring the safety and security of its people.
