Probers eye grudge, robbery as motive in murder of trader

INVESTIGATORS have eyed personal grudge and robbery as the motive in the killing of a businesswoman outside her house in Green Meadows Brgy Sto Niño Tugbok District, Wednesday night.

The report identified the victim as Yvonette Chua Plaza, 30.

Major Catherine Dela Rey, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, said among the motives being looked into were personal grudge and robbery as her was possibly taken by the killers.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on the body.

Dela Rey said there were also social media posts that identified a person of interest but investigators from the Tugbok Police Station have considered all persons of interest possible motives of the killing.

Based on the report, the victim alighted from her vehicle to open the gate of her house when a man approached and shot her. The gunman left the place on foot.

First responders immediately attended to her but she was declared dead.

The Scene of the Crime Operative team found a deformed slug at the crime scene as they immediately brought the body to the Angel Funeral Homes in Calinan.
