THE DAVAO Police Regional Office (PRO XI) believes the ₱10 million bounty on Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and the P1 million reward for each of his five associates could expedite their capture.
“The large reward incentivizes informants, increasing the likelihood of receiving information that leads to their arrest,” said PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey.
She noted that bounties have historically been proven effective in apprehending wanted individuals.
She emphasized that any law enforcement officer can execute the arrest warrants at any time, upon obtaining information about his whereabouts.
Atty. Adam Jambangan, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) legal counsel, responded to the bounty, stating that law enforcement must arrest individuals with warrants, regardless of incentives.
He highlighted that the accused are presumed innocent and not obligated to surrender.
Jambangan criticized what he perceived as “harassment and persecution” of his clients and their community, questioning the government’s priorities and the source of the bounty.
He condemned the focus on Quiboloy, calling it discriminatory and demeaning.
“We demand fairness, full disclosure, and transparency,” Jambangan said. “We maintain our firm belief in the innocence of Pastor Quiboloy and the other five Kingdom Ministers,” he further said.
