The Police Regional Office XI has ordered a thorough investigation into the death of a policeman while undergoing his Basic Internal Security Operation Course (Bisoc) training at the Regional Special Training Unit.
Brig. Gen. Filmore Escobal, PRO XI regional director, is saddened by the death of Patrolman Angelo M. Tito, who collapsed during a road run at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Sun City, Barangay Communal, Buhangin District.
Tito died at 10:30 a.m. the next day at the Metro Davao Medical And Research Center. He was diagnosed with sinus tachycardia secondary to severe dehydration.
Escobal ordered an investigation to spot any lapses in the procedures. The instructors were also investigated to determine if they might be liable to administrative charges.
“We condole with the family and loved ones of Patrolman Tito for his passing. Rest assured, financial assistance due to the bereaved family will be extended, and the PRO XI will conduct a fair investigation on his untimely demise,” he added.
Before being accepted into the program, all police trainees must pass a standard medical evaluation to guarantee that they are fit and healthy.
Tito was among the five Bisoc trainees who were brought to the Regional Health Service XI. The others were Dexter Bucaling, Juvanny Saydaw, Exel Busalla, and Fraxsidicio Florentino II.
Bisco is an enhanced training intended for counter-insurgency operations.
