PRO XI: No phones during duties

By Seiryl Domagonot/UM Intern

THE POLICE Regional Office XI (PRO XI) is enforcing a stricter policy on cell phone use among its personnel during operations and patrols.

PRO XI spokesperson Maj. Catherine Dela Rey announced the policy during a press conference, following a directive from newly installed PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil.

The policy prohibits officers from using their phones for personal reasons while on duty.

Violations will result in the immediate filing of administrative cases without prior warnings.

Dela Rey emphasized that investigations will still be conducted before cases are filed.

PRO XI is seeking the community’s help in implementing the policy.

Residents can submit photos or videos of officers using their phones for more than five minutes to the nearest police station or PRO XI’s Facebook page.
