PRO XI chief inspects airport; 3,000 PNP personnel deployed 

IN PREPARATION for the anticipated influx of travelers during Holy Week, Police Regional Office XI (PRO) XI director Brig Gen Alden Delvo inspected the security preparations at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport on Monday, March 25.

Delvo met with representatives from the Office for Transportation Security and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience for passengers.

3,000 personnel deployed

The PRO XI will deploy approximately 3,000 police officers across the region for the Holy Week.

Major Catherine Dela Rey, police regional spokesperson, said they would prioritize areas with high foot traffic, including terminals, seaports, airports, and tourist destinations like beaches.

Additional police personnel will be assigned to churches to ensure the safety of devotees attending Holy Week masses.

Public safety tips

The PRO XI reminded the public to take precautions during the holidays to Secure homes by locking doors and windows before leaving, Avoid leaving messages announcing your absence on social media or outside your home, Unplug unnecessary appliances before leaving houses, and Consider requesting a neighbor to look after your house while away.

Dela Rey emphasized the importance of online safety. “It’s crucial to refrain from posting details about your activities on social media while your home is unattended,” she advised.
