Power rate up for Feb-March billing: DLPC

THE DAVAO Light and Power Company (DLPC) announced that residential consumers can expect an increase of P0.4413 per kilowatt hour (kWh) in their power consumption for the February to March billing period.

According to the statement posted on its Facebook page, the increase is “attributed to higher market prices, which pushed the generation rate up.”

The power rate increased from P8.82 last month to P9.26 kWh this February. The increase translates to a P88.26 difference from the previous billing of households whose average monthly electricity consumption is 200 kWh.

DLPC also reiterated that changes in power rates are expected every month as market prices are volatile.

“Davao Light customers can still have control over their electricity bills by focusing on their consumption,” DLPC said.

Fermin Edillon, DLPC reputation enhancement department head, said, ”Another factor that contributes to the monthly bill is the energy consumption of consumers.”

Davao Light customers can check the power utility’s official Facebook page for more energy conservation tips, and www.davaolight.com for the complete February rates.

DLPC also urged customers to utilize their recently launched electric bill applications called mobileAP and eBillTxt, to monitor bills and payments without having to go to their physical offices.
