Power rate slightly down for March and April billing

THE DAVAO Light and Power Company (DLPC) announced a slight decrease of P0.2595 per kilowatt hour (kWh) for the March to April billing period.

The decrease means that residential consumers will experience a P51.90 difference from the previous billing of households whose average monthly electricity consumption is 200 kWh.

In an advisory released from their social media page on March 19, DLPC noted that the decrease is attributed to “low power supply prices from the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in Mindanao and coal prices in the world market.”

The power rate decreased from P9.2570/kWh last month to P8.9975/kWh this March.

DLPC also reiterated that changes in power rates are expected every month as market prices are volatile.

They also urged customers to “manage their daily energy consumption, to avoid higher power bills.”

Davao Light customers can check the power utility’s official Facebook page for more energy conservation tips, and www.davaolight.com for the complete February rates.

DLPC also urged customers to utilize their recently launched electric bill applications called mobileAP and eBillTxt, to monitor bills and payments without having to go to their physical offices.
