Police step up patrols after weekend commotions

CITY POLICE director Col. Richard Bad-ang ordered heightened visibility and patrols following two-weekend disturbances in Bankerohan Public Market and Calinan District.

The first incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on May 15 at Purok 5, Barangay Riverside, Davao-Bukidnon Highway in Calinan. The second incident took place early Sunday morning, around 1:30 a.m. at Paz Eatery Bulaloan in Bankerohan.

In response, Calinan Police Station chief Major Alberto Abella and San Pedro Police Station commander Major Michael Uyanguren immediately ordered an investigation into the two incidents.

Both stations are actively identifying those involved in the disturbances. Police are aiming to press charges for alarm and scandal to deter future similar incidents.

“These actions show that regardless of severity, unlawful acts will not be tolerated,” Bad-ang said. “We will pursue charges to deter future disturbances.”

Bad-ang emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and order. “Everyone’s involvement is necessary,” he said.
