Police seize P26.5-M in drugs,  arrest 572 in March crackdown

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) seized P26.5 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations in March alone.

DCPO chief Col Richard P. Bad-ang said police officers conducted 139 successful anti-drug operations leading to the arrest of 175 individuals.

For the entire month, local authorities confiscated over 569 grams of shabu and 188 grams of marijuana, with an estimated street value of P26.5 million. They also filed 206 drug cases at the City Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, 87 law enforcement efforts targeting illegal gambling resulted in 205 arrests and the seizure of bet money totaling P41,723. Police also filed 87 cases against the apprehended individuals under Republic Act 9287.

Bad-ang said they also arrested 161 suspects, including 36 on the most wanted list, in different operations. Finally, DCPO personnel arrested 31 individuals, with eight cases filed in court, over loose firearms. 

In total, the DCPO apprehended 572 individuals in a month, demonstrating its commitment to intensifying the fight against crime in Davao City.

Bad-ang acknowledged the valuable role of Davaoeños in creating a safe community. He also emphasized that the police uphold proper procedures and the rule of law in every operation.
