Police seize over P70,000 worth of drugs in 24-hour operations

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) seized over P70,000 worth of illegal drugs in a series of operations conducted within a 24-hour period.

Acting city police director Col Hansel Marantan said various police stations carried out six anti-illegal drug operations across the city, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals and the confiscation of shabu and marijuana.

The operations, bolstered by community tip-offs, targeted drug personalities in Sasa, Toril, Calinan, Baguio, and Bajada.

Specific seizures included P10,744 worth of shabu in Sasa (PS4), P4,376 worth of shabu and marijuana in Toril (PS8), P5,984 worth of shabu in Calinan (PS10), P37,400 worth of shabu in Baguio (PS11), and P12,240 worth of shabu in Bajada (PS18).

The DCPO emphasized its commitment to eradicating illegal drugs, citing their significant contribution to crime rates. 

“The DCPO is dedicated to serving with utmost sincerity and dedication to ensure the safety and security of the city,” Marantan said. “We will not cease conducting operations against illegal drugs to provide a safer place for all Davaoeños.”
