A HEAVY equipment driver and his two helpers were arrested after shabu was seized from them while passing through the checkpoint in Barangay Lacson, Calinan District on Sunday, April 24.
Capt. John Louie Dema-ala, the Task Force Davao spokesperson, identified them as Rogelio P Miraña, 42, resident of Greenland Subdivision, Cainta, Rizal; Rolando R Manaytay, 43, resident of Pentail St., Anak Paris, Cainta, Rizal; and Jerico Coste Jr, 23, single, resident of Louisville, Panacan.
According to Dema-ala, the three were on board a yellow wing van type with plate number NGT 2067 bound for Barangay Ma-a when three sachets of suspected shabu and two improvised tubes with drug residues were intercepted from their possessions while passing the checkpoint.
The authorities reported that the captured contrabands weighs around 0.17grams with an estimated street value of P2,700.
The three were turned over to the Calinan Police Station for the filing of appropriate charge for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). By Rhoda Grace B. Saron
Drug den in Tagum
raided, six nabbed
THE PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency Regional XI raided an alleged drug den following a buy-bust operation at 3 a.m. in Purok Malinis, Barangay Magugpo South, Tagum City, Davao del Norte at 3 am.
The target of the operation was identified Teresita Heluano alias Gin Tisay, 43, married and resident of the said area.
Heluano was caught by a PDEA agent acting as a poseur buyer after she handed for selling two pieces of suspected shabu weighing more or less one gram and valued P8,000.
Five drug den visitors, identified as Luzbel Aldiano Norodin Dimnang, Roy Eyas, Gilmar Humok, and Fermo Paradero, were also arrested during the operation while performing a shabu session inside the said drug den.
During the operation, ten heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu in various sizes weighing more or less thirteen grams with a street value of P195,000, various drug accessories, buy-bust marked money, and boodle money were also seized.
