Police file case vs grounded ‘Superman’

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) already filed a case against the motorcycle rider driving dangerously in a prone position on the newly opened coastal road.

The “Superman” stunt of the suspect, Alexander John Japos, quickly went viral after being posted on Facebook on July 18.

Major Rosario Aguilar, commander of Ecoland Police Station, said Japos is now facing a case for alarm and scandal and disobedience to a person in authority.

He also received a citation for reckless and dangerous driving, speeding, and driving without a driver’s license.

The suspect and the motorcycle are in the custody of Ecoland Police Station (Station 15).

Japos was arrested following a hot pursuit operation by the joint personnel of the City Traffic and Transportation Management Office and Davao City Police Office at Matina Aplaya on July 18.

City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) chief Dionisio Abude said the rider only borrowed the motorcycle from his friend. He also committed multiple violations, like wearing slippers, an unprescribed helmet, and an expired OR/CR.
