Police destroy 623 modified mufflers, blinkers, and lights 

A TOTAL of 623 confiscated modified mufflers, blinkers, and lights were destroyed on Thursday afternoon, May 31, at Traffic Enforcement Unit headquarters. 

Based on the record of the Davao City Police Office, the confiscated items were seized from the period of July 2, 2023 to May 30, 2024.

In the same event, the city government turned over alcohol breath analyzer kits and relaunched Republic Act 10586, known as the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013, after enforcement was relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Meanwhile, DCPO said it filed 123 cases against motorists who violated the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act between January 2016 and April 2020. Of the total, 90 were convicted and 33 cases are still ongoing.

Mayor Sebastian Duterte, Land Transportation Office XI regional director Eleanor Calderon, DCPO officer-in-charge Col. Rolindo Suguilon, and other officials graced the activity.
