Police clearance applicants to reveal travel history first

Applicants who want to secure a police clearance need to fill-up a form first before they can go inside Camp Leonor Domingo along San Pedro Street.

Capt. Rosario Aguilar, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson, said that people need to provide information on their previous travel, particularly in countries or cities with positive cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The procedure is part of their contract tracing protocol as a preventative measure against the virus.

“We must make sure that before they will enter the headquarters, we will know where they came from or if they had a prior out-of-town commitment,” she added.

Before the Code Red Level 1, Col. Kirby John Kraft, city police director, has already instructed all the 12 police stations to ensure a clean workplace, including putting alcohol or disinfectant at the desk information section.

“The headquarters will use the thermoscanner on the clients who will enter inside the barracks as precautionary measures,” Aguilar said.

Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office XI health service has also distributed alcohol bottles and sanitizers to the different units.

“Our policemen, as much as possible, should use a face mask and adopt proper handwashing, practice respiratory hygiene, as much as possible, stay one meter away when coughing,” PRO XI spokesperson Police Major Eudisan Gultiano said.
