Police arrest businessman, seize P200-K worth of shabu

A BUSINESSMAN was arrested after more than P200,000 shabu was allegedly seized from his possession following a buy-bust in Purok 5, San Nicolas, Barangay 8-A, Poblacion on Thursday, Feb. 1.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, identified the suspect only as alias Shan, 41, married, and a resident of Purok Narra, Poblacion Malalag, Davao Del Sur. 

The DCPO, San Pedro Drug Enforcement Unit, under the direct supervision of station commander Major Marvin Hugos, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao City, and Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), under the direct supervision of Lt Col Hamlet Lerios, conducted the joint buy-bust operation.

The team reportedly confiscated 39.6 grams of suspected shabu worth P269,280 from the suspect.

Tuazon said the DCPO is serious about the campaign against illegal drugs. “The active involvement and support of the community motivate the team to perform their duties diligently,” she said. 

“We appreciate all the help from the Davaoeños in providing crucial information about individuals engaged in illegal drug operations and standing united with us in this campaign, safeguarding the innocent, especially our children,” she added.
