- Dela Rosa urges fugitive Pastor Quiboloy to surrender
SENATOR Ronald Dela Rosa asked Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, who is wanted on child abuse and sexual abuse charges, to turn himself in to authorities.
In a recent interview, Dela Rosa expressed hope Quiboloy would end his fugitive status, stating, “He should face it to put an end to this.”
He also offered support, saying, “Wherever he is, he is still a friend and idol.”
Dela Rosa claimed Malacañang assured him Quiboloy would not be extradited to the US.
On revocation of Pastor’s guns
The former PNP chief explained that firearm ownership is a privilege, so the government can revoke the license at any time.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the DCPO spokesperson, confirmed the PNP Regional Civil Service Unit would file a warrant to seize Quiboloy’s firearms.
Meanwhile, Pastor Quiboloy’s lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, intends to file a motion for reconsideration regarding the revoked firearms license.
Torreon argued that Sec. 39 of the firearms law requires a conviction before revocation of a license.. He believes Section 4(g), cited by PNP, applies to applicants and not licensed firearm holders.
Finally, Torreon believes that Quiboloy remains in the Philippines despite his absence from legal proceedings.
