APO Agua Infrastructura Inc., the company behind the P12.6 billion bulk water supply project that is tapping the Tamugan River, is undertaking two major construction phases of the project within the second semester of the year, its official said.
Cirilo Almario III, company general manager, told TIMES last week next month, that the company will start the pipe-laying phase for the eight-kilometer raw water pipeline from the river up to the water treatment plant and that in October, the another pipe-laying phase will also start between the treated water pipeline and the 13 working sites.
“This 55-km treated water pipeline which will lead to 10 to 13 possible work sites will really cause inconvenience to the people, so as of now we already apologize to them. But of course we will do everything we can. We are in coordination with DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways), City Engineers Office and with CTTMO (City Transport and Traffic Management Office) as well as the PSSCC (Public Safety and Security Command Center),” Almario said.
He said the contractor has yet to identify the 13 specific sites for the treated water pipeline operations but generally, it will be from the treatment plant that will go through Barangays Dumalang, Lacson, Magtuod, Tugbok, Talandang, Cabantian and Panacan then going down to Dumoy.
He said the smallest pipe to be used will be 400 millimeters.
Almario said they are on track with the plan thus he is hopeful the company can finish the entire project by the first half of 2021 as promised.
For the right of way issues, he also said there were no problems with the 170 contracts they already acquired.
