THE PHILIPPINE Health Insurance Corporation XI (PhilHealth) and Philippine Information Agency XI (PIA) signed a memorandum of understanding on Feb. 19, 2025, to strengthen information dissemination and communication strategies.
The ceremonial signing will support PhilHealth XI’s marketing and communication activities namely media forums, radio programs, press conferences, and provide updates on the Konsultasyong Sulit Tama (Konsulta) benefit packages and programs.
The event was attended by key figures from both agencies, PIA XI regional director Rene V. Carbayas and PhilHealth XI regional vice president Atty. Harvey L. Carcedo.
PhilHealth XI launched its 13 new and enhanced benefits during PIA XI’s Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas last Sept 2024.
These benefit packages include the Hemodialysis 144% increase in coverage (P6,350 for 156 sessions annually), Konsulta + SDG Package, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (Severe) 194% increase in coverage, COVID-19 Inpatient benefits rate adjustments for adults and children, and others.
Moreover, Philhealth XI will launch packages for Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG), the Comprehensive Outpatient Benefit Package (COBP), Enhanced Z Benefits for prostate and cervical carcinoma, rationalized case rates for chemotherapy (Lung, Liver, Ovarian, and Prostate), and other packages for the year 2025.
The corporation has paid hospitals P20.1 billion from Dec 27, 2024, to Jan 25, 2025. PhilHealth Regional Office XI (PRO XI) also disbursed P928,081,781.9 in timely payments for valid claims during the same period.
