PIA XI and Metro Shuttle to launch new bus project for EIC

By Gio J. Tanudtanud

THE PHILIPPINE Information Agency in the region and the Davao Metro Shuttle Corporation will launch the Budyong sa Bus project to bolster the government information dissemination campaign by April.

During the Kapehan sa PIA at NCCC Victoria Plaza, Emerald L. Uy, CEO of Davao Metro Shuttle Corporation, and Jemin B. Guillermo, PIA XI regional director, signed the memorandum of understanding for the new project on Mar 22.

According to Guillermo, the bus will act as another platform to amplify the advocacy efforts of the government, disseminate information to the communities, and act as a convenience service for passengers.

Maraming mga programa na ang iba minsan hindi pa nila alam. So we’ll make use of this platform again para maraming makakaalam kung anong ginagawa ng ating gobyerno para sa kanila. All that the government is doing right now is for the welfare of every Filipino,” she said.

Emerald Uy said they will put the government information videos via audio and visuals in at least 150 buses, especially for long trips like the Davao City to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) in Metro Manila.

“So really, it’s just for a better Philippines for everyone. Parang fair naman po talaga na we can promote all the services that each Filipino can avail freely,” she said.

She also added that they piloted the information videos on buses for the recently launched Davao-Baganga line last week.
