Philbex in Davao City targets P350-M revenue this year

THE PHILIPPINE Building and Construction Expo (PhilBEx), in its seventh edition, returns to Davao City for the biggest construction and introduction of the newest brand technology event to be held from May 9 to 12 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.

During the Kapihan forum on May 6, Leo Salonga, Worldbex Services International marketing communications manager, announced that the expo aims to target P350-P500 million in revenues, surpassing the P180 million from last year.

“Upon gathering the data from all of our exhibitors, they got a good turnout from last year because it’s mostly business-to-business (B2B), and business-to-consumer (B2C) at the same time, a lot of people on-site had also purchased materials,” Salonga said.

Along with that, Salonga noted that the event will be co-hosted by the Travel and Leisure Expo (TLEX) showcasing local hotels, resorts, and airlines during the show, a two-targeted market approach.

Worldbex Services International, as the organizer of Philbex Davao 2024, aims to bring together experts and practitioners in the construction industry to raise industry standards and showcase top talent and Mindanaoan skills in design and construction.

Some of the newest exhibitors will be the different regions and chapters from the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers Group, architecture firms, and their featured workshop called PhilBEx Likha, to showcase artistry such as weaving and pottery.

“Weaving and pottery are some of the dying art in the industry, including here in Davao City, and we want to make this free workshop an opportunity to relive it. We will also be assisted by Tabula Rasa,” Salonga said.

The trade will gather around 250 local and international brand exhibitors, particularly from China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe, and America to showcase their newest technology from building and design.

“For our consumers in the real estate, these are investments. We wanted to give them quality products, quality materials, and innovations and technology, and being sustainable at the same time,” he added.

Last year, PhilBEx 2023 noted that painting and hardware materials are the well-visited booths in Davao City. The trade gathered more than 20,000 visitors last year.
