THE PUBLIC Employment Service Office (PESO) has announced two major job fairs scheduled for April 8 and May 1 to provide employment opportunities to job seekers, including new graduates.
PESO manager Lilibeth Pantinople confirmed that the first job fair will take place on April 8 at NCCC Mall VP. The event is organized in partnership with Junior Chamber International (JCI), NCCC Mall, and Victoria Plaza.

A total of 31 companies have been invited to participate, with 21 local companies offering 2,400 job vacancies and 10 overseas companies providing 1,782 positions.
Four overseas companies have confirmed their attendance. PESO anticipates a large turnout, especially with recent graduates adding to the number of job seekers.
The second job fair will be held on May 1 in celebration of Labor Day. This event is sponsored by the Department of Labor and Employment XI and the city government of Davao.
According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the employment rate in October 2024 rose to 97.5% from 97.1% in October 2023, while the unemployment rate declined from 2.9% to 2.5%.
