Pasko Fiesta opens

  • Mayor Duterte heads the lighting ceremony for month-long celebration

 

THE CITY government officially launched its Pasko Fiesta 2023 with the theme, “Warmth of Love, Radiance of Joy” (Kainit sa Gugma, Kasinag sa Kasadya) on Tuesday night, reflecting the essence of the Christmas season. 

The opening ceremony was graced by Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte, who emphasized the essence of collaboration and understanding for the holidays. 

Karong Pasko, maghinatagay ug masinabtanay ‘ta. Mao na ang wish nako para sa inyohang tanan,” the mayor said. 

Various residents and visitors marveled at the vibrant red and white-colored decorations, highlighted by the giant Christmas tree, displayed around City Hall. 

The event also emphasized the essence of giving for the season, a festive way to include charitable activities such as gift-giving drives, community outreach programs, and charity concerts. 

Along with the month-long Christmas celebration will be the different fun-filled activities prepared and participated by competing entries, such as Sing Along ni Pulong, Hulagway sa Pasko Fiesta Digital Art Contest, Rondal Sayaw sa Pasko, Banda Dasig ug Parada sa Pasko, Koro sa Pasko, the Giant Torotot Competition, among others. 

Paskuhan in the Park, the first-ever Christmas bazaar that opens on Nov. 30, will also be one of the Pasko Fiesta’s destination highlights, showcasing perfect gift ideas and festive food stalls. 

The Pasko Fiesta 2024 celebration will run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 31, followed by Paghinugyaw – Sugat sa Bag-ong Tuig, a New Year’s Eve party to be participated by various LGUs.
