About P200,000 worth of drugs were recovered in different buy-bust operations conducted by the Toril police from Friday to Sunday.
Lt. Col. Jed Clamor, the commander of Toril Police Station, said Jomarwin Dulaogon Redubla, 26, and Mildred Planas Lagno, 22, both presently residing in Melanie Rojo apartment, were arrested Sunday night in Culusa Village, Barangay Lizada, Toril District.
According to the report of Toril police at 8:30 p.m. of May 12, intelligence operatives bought P6,000 worth of shabu from the suspects. Recovered from their possession were five assorted sachets of shabu worth P62,000.
On Friday, authorities seized more than P130,000 worth of shabu in two separate buy-busts conducted by agents of the Toril police around 9:30 p.m.
Clamor led the operation in Prudential Village, Barangay Daliao resulting in the arrest of Jude Torremonia Lumbayon, 31, organizer and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Tungkalan.
He said Lumbayon was apprehended after he sold one small sachet containing alleged shabu to a police officer who posed as buyer in exchange for P500.
Meanwhile, around 2 a.m., the same team conducted another operation at Bacaca road, Barangay 19-B resulting in the arrest of Obette Morata Malonzo, 34, seaman, and a resident of Sto. Niño Street, La Verna, Buhangin.
According to the report, the suspect sold one big sachet of shabu to a police buyer in exchange of P500. Upon frisking, he yielded narcotics with a total value of P130,000.
“We conducted operation against him in Bacaca because the suspect is selling drugs in Toril, ” Clamor said.
The suspects are now detained in the Toril Police Precinct as they face a case for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Marcelo C. Morales, regional director, lauded the Toril Police Station for the accomplishments.
“Nevertheless, we will remain steadfast in our endeavor to eradicate this drug problem in the region,” he said.
