P1-M worth of drugs hauled in operations in Tagum, Mati

Ten alleged drug pushers were arrested and another one was killed in separate operations conducted by the agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI in coordination with the local police in Tagum and Mati City.

 

Meanwhile, the authorities were able to seize more than P1 million worth of shabu in the operations.

 

Nephi Noli Dimaandal, the spokesperson of PDEA XI, said the first operation was conducted against Norodin Canid Kudarat and Sammy Salig Alias Samad/Sammy Kudarat last Feb. 4 around 8:45 p.m. in Purok Tadena, Boundary Barangay Magugpo West, Barangay Mankilam, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

 

Reportedly, Salig drew his Uzi sub-machine gun and shot at the operatives. The officers returned fire and killed him.

 

Around 71.0373 grams of shabu with a street value of P852,477.60, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the Uzi sub-machine gun were recovered at the scene.

 

Norodin Kudarat is now detained in the PDEA XI detention facility.

 

Also, drug den maintainers and visitors were arrested in an operation last Feb. 5 at 3:30 p.m. inside the hotel located in Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City.

 

Agents from Davao del Norte Provincial Office of the PDEA XI, led by director Antonio Rivera, with the Investigation and Detection Management Branch, Provincial Intelligence Branch of Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office and Tagum City Police Station conducted the operation.

 

The suspects were identified as Janley Carbonilla and Chessa Donaire. They were arrested when they allegedly sold a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover agent.

 

Suspects Jupit Pitlo, Jestoni Infiesto, Kevin Roy Achacoso, Sally Balla and Girley Briso were also arrested when they were caught in the act of using shaby by the operatives.

 

Another 13 sachets of shabu weighing more or less 12 grams with a street value of P144,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money were also recovered during the operation.

 

On the other hand, Ben Hadjali Tashim, 44 , married and a resident of Islamic Center, Barangay Central, and Winjan Rafael Lorenzo, 30, single and a resident of Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental, were arrested in a buy-bust at 2:04 p.m. last February 4 at Quezon Street, Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

 

Dimaandal said the two were arrested for selling one sachet of shabu weighing more or less one 1 gram worth P10,000 to a PDEA agent. Another two sachets of shabu weighing more or less two grams with a street value of P24,000, drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money were recovered from their possession.

 

“Tashim is the regional target number 11 drug perpetrator in Davao Region,” he said.

 

The suspects are now detained in the Mati City Police Station detention facility.

 

Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 of The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being filed against them.
