P1.1 million grand prize for the Indak-Indak champion

THE CITY Tourism Operations Office (DCTOO) announced a P1.1 million grand prize for the winner of the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan open category, the culminating event of the Kadayawan Festival next month.

During the Kapihan sa PiA, on Friday, July 26, CTOO admin officer Charlotte Parba said the open category already has 11 committed participants as of July 26, but they expect 15 total entries.

The Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan consists of 10 consolation prizes that will receive a total of P50,000 pesos each, the fifth place will win a P300,000 cash prize with a trophy; the fourth place is P400,000 with trophy; third place is P500,000 with trophy, second place is P800,000 with trophy; and a P1.1 million for the champion. 

Parba said special awards will also be handed out at P50,000 each for Best Music, Best Choreography, and Best in Artistic Design.

The competition is open to all interested groups, including provincial schools, community-based organizations, and school-based teams from Davao City and beyond.

The event will take place on Aug. 18, 2024, with the street dance and parade and the Pamulak sa Kadayawan (floral float). The entry submission deadline is on July 30, 2024.
